Advantages
1. Low flow resistance. The internal channels of the valve body are all straight, and the medium flows in a straight line, resulting in low flow resistance.
2. Less force required for opening and closing. Compared with the stop valve, this is because the movement direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the flow direction of the medium in both opening and closing.
3. High height, long opening and closing time. The opening and closing stroke of the gate plate is large, and the movement is carried out through a screw.
4. Less likely to cause water hammer phenomenon. This is because the closing time is long.
5. The medium can flow in any direction on both sides, making installation easy. The channels on both sides of the gate valve are symmetrical.
6. The structural length (the distance between the two connection end faces of the shell) is small.
7. Simple shape, short structure length, good manufacturing processability, wide application range.
8. Compact structure, good valve rigidity, smooth channels, low flow resistance, sealing surfaces use stainless steel and hard alloy, long service life, PTFE packing is used, sealing is reliable, operation is light and flexible. Disadvantages
The sealing surfaces are prone to erosion and abrasion, making maintenance difficult. The overall size is large, and opening requires a certain amount of space. The opening and closing time is long. The structure is relatively complex.
